It is with careful consideration and recommendations from the state and Massage Board that we abide by the following guidelines to keep you, our team and community healthy, safe and comfortable in our space. Please read the following information so that you will know what to expect at your appointment:
-
Clients must schedule an appointment by phone or online booking to receive service.
-
A staff member will take a temperature reading when you arrive to the office.
-
If you have flu-like symptoms including a cough, fever or sneezing, please refrain from visiting the office until such symptoms have cleared up.
Every massage therapy session is customized to your individual needs and requests. If this will be your first visit with us, we recommend arriving approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled time to complete an intake form. This helps our therapists to better understand and to more effectively treat you by gathering information regarding medical history, postural patterns and habits related to work and/or lifestyle, specific areas of discomfort, goals of the treatment session and so forth.
Minutes allotted for your session reflect true service time provided by your therapist. We do not deduct time for room prep or pre- and post-interview. For example, a 90-minute massage session equals 90 minutes of actual hands-on massage on the table.
Hydrated muscles are easier to massage, so we recommend drinking plenty of water a day or two BEFORE your appointment to maximize the effect of your therapy session. Toxins and metabolic wastes tend to be stored by the body in your fat cells and interstitial myofascial tissues. When you have a massage those cells and tissues are stimulated and thoroughly manipulated and as a result toxins and wastes are released. This can make you feel a little lightheaded for a short period of time. Therefore, we also recommend drinking plenty of water AFTER your massage to help your body more effectively flush out these toxins and wastes.
Jewelry such as necklaces, bracelets, watches and large earrings should be removed before your session begins.

Cell phones are allowed in the office but we kindly ask that the vibration and ring be turned off as a courtesy to other patrons and therapists.

To ensure the session meets your expectations, we encourage you to communicate at any point in the session your preferred pressure level: light, medium or deep. Oftentimes, clients will request lighter pressure in one area and deeper pressure in another. We are more than happy to modulate our pressure application to your liking.

We strive to make Spawell Massage a space for optimal wellness and relaxation, if at any point during the session our therapists encounter any inappropriate behavior or language, the session will be terminated.
