Spawell Massage Team

Phuong Tran, LMT, BCTMB, NBCR, MLD-C, CLT

Phuong is currently training with Anatomy Trains Structural Integration to earn his certification to become a Structural Integration practitioner. He welcomes you to experience this transformative style of bodywork at Spawell Massage. Phuong has practiced integrative manual therapy since 2023.

The Benefits of Structural Integration

Our bodies grow, move, and change within the constant field of gravity; when we oppose gravity inefficiently, valuable resources are wasted. Physical injuries, trauma, and the stresses of daily life require us to adapt how we move and hold ourselves upright. These adaptive patterns can become deeply ingrained—even long after they’ve fulfilled their protective and adaptive functions—to the point that basic movements like sitting, breathing, and walking are more effortful than necessary. Such prolonged effort can contribute toward feelings of stiffness, pain, fatigue, and lack of vitality.

Structural Integration can help us learn to “let go” of chronic stress and tension, to stop fighting gravity and allow it to support us instead. Movement becomes a pleasure, breath comes easier, and “good posture” becomes effortless. We experience a sense of ease, efficiency, and grace. Many SI clients come to find relief from pain and discomfort along the way. While this describes some general benefits, the SI process is individual and personal, with a wide range of effects and benefits (iasi.net).

Phuong welcomes the challenge of working on a diverse population of clients.  He specializes in the artful blend of Eastern and Western styles of bodywork.  He enjoys helping clients resolve issues relating to posture imbalance, asymmetry and dysfunction associated with the kinetic chains of the body- be it sciatica, neck & shoulder pain, back tightness and/or spasms, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, TMJ, post-surgery or injury overcompensation, frozen shoulder, tension headaches, post-operative recovery and everything in between, he will try his very best to help you.

Phuong maintains the massage therapy industry's highest credential- Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB).  Maintaining Board Certification goes above and beyond the requirements of state licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Requirements for BCTMB certification are passing the Board Certification Exam, completion of 24 hours of continuing education biannually, passing a criminal background check and agreeing to uphold the Standards of Practice & Code of Ethics of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. Credentialing demonstrates a continuing and ongoing commitment towards personal and professional development that Phuong takes very seriously, so you can be rest assured that he has your best interests at heart.

Phuong combines his extensive training as a licensed massage therapist (LMT), Vodder-Technique manual lymphatic drainage certification (MLD-C) and as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) to assist clients recovering from plastic surgery and clients managing chronic lymphedema conditions.

Phuong also has had the pleasure of completing a 300-Hour Reflexology Professional Development Program at New England Institute of Reflexology & Universal Studies with Valerie Voner in 2019 in Bourne, MA.  He has also received training with Tracy Walton for Oncology Massage Therapy: Caring for Clients with Cancer in 2017 and is a member of The Society for Oncology Massage (S4OM.org).  He is a National Board Certified Reflexologist (NBCR) through the American Reflexology and Certification Board (ARCB) an active member of the Reflexology Association of America.  He is also Graston Technique Specialist Certified and certified in Myofascial Cupping and Kinesiotaping through Rocktape.

He received his massage therapy training in 2014 at Florida Academy in sunny Fort Myers, Florida.

When he is not at the office, you can find Phuong tending to his house plants or honing his wood working skills.

Phuong is currently taking appointments for Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Oncology, Reflexology, Integrative Bodywork, Postoperative Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy and now participants for 3-Series Structural Integration practice sessions.

Tara HaidaiChuk, LMT

Tara worked in the healthcare industry for over 15 years prior to transitioning to the more hands-on complementary side of care in 2015.  She became aware of her interest in massage after witnessing first-hand that the primary reason driving so many patients into doctors' offices were complaints of muscular and structural pain somewhere in the body. She did not know it at the time but with this newfound perspective her path as a massage therapist had already been set in motion.

Tara is an amazing addition to the Spawell tribe. She is highly proficient with hands-on manual therapy and is Graston Technique Certified Level 1 and certified in Myofascial Cupping and Kinesiotaping through Rocktape. If you are looking for an intuitive, approachable and compassionate therapist then look no further!

Tara is a graduate of the Salter School for Massage Therapy.

Tara is currently taking appointments for Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Prenatal and Integrative Massage.
